Teddies · Surfers Paradise

The bear they keep.

A bear is what is still in the room a year after the flowers are finished. Three of them, chosen for proportion: small enough to sit beside an arrangement, or large enough to arrive as the gift itself.

Why there are only three

Twenty-five centimetres, or eighty.

We carry three bears, not a wall of them. The size is the whole decision, so it is the only thing we let change: the same soft plush, finished the same way at the neck.

A woman in burgundy satin sitting on a studio floor, the small pink Classic Bear cupped in both her hands and the large beige Grand Bear with its red scarf sitting beside her at her own seated height

One is a handful. The other sits up as tall as you do.

The Classic Bear

In pink, blue or brown

25 cm

Small on purpose. It sits beside an arrangement without competing with it, and it fits in a cot without taking the cot over. The proportion is what we chose it for: at this size the bear reads as part of the gift rather than a second gift.

  • Ribbon bow at the neck $30

The Grand Bear

Soft beige, deep red scarf

80 cm

At this size the bear stops being an addition. It arrives as the gift and the flowers are what came with it, which is the right order for a first birthday, a milestone, or a long stay where something needs to hold the room for weeks rather than days.

  • Carried with both arms $180

There is no size in between, on purpose. Choose by how much of the room you want the gift to take: one sits beside the flowers, the other arrives as the occasion. A bear goes out with most things we make, and most often with new baby, get well and romance.

Sent from a flower shop

A bear from a florist arrives differently.

It comes with the flowers

In the same delivery as the arrangement, on the same day, so it is one arrival and not two. A bear ordered anywhere else turns up on its own, in a box, some other afternoon.

It gets into wards that refuse flowers

Plush is accepted on most wards that restrict fresh flowers, which makes a bear the reliable choice when you do not know the policy. We deliver to all six Gold Coast hospitals six days a week, boxed and ready for the bedside table.

How hospital delivery works →

It can be there this afternoon

Order by 2pm, Monday to Saturday, and it goes out the same day across the Gold Coast. Same day only works because the bear is already here, not on a truck from another state.

Good to know

Which one for a new baby?

The Classic Bear at twenty-five centimetres, in pink, blue or brown. It fits in a hospital cot without taking the cot over, and it is the bear inside The Nursery, our boxed new-baby gift. The rest of what we send for a new arrival is in New Baby.

Can a bear be sent on its own?

Yes. Any of the three can go by itself, or be added to an arrangement so the two arrive together. It sits with the balloons, chocolates and vases we send alongside flowers.

Sending one to a hospital?

Worth reading the hospital delivery page first. It lists the six hospitals we deliver to, what the wards will and will not accept, and what to put in the delivery notes so it reaches the right room.
