Beyond the Gold Coast

Flowers anywhere in Australia.

Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, or a country town you would struggle to find on a map. Arranged by hand that morning by a florist who actually lives there, and carried to the door. Never posted in a box.

How to order

Four steps, and we hold the rest.

Tell us where they are

The full delivery address, a phone number for whoever is receiving them, and the day you would like the flowers to arrive. The florist at the other end needs all three. You are welcome to ring the shop instead of filling anything in.

We choose the florist

Not a call centre and not an algorithm. We look at who holds that town, read their work, and place your order with a florist we would be happy to be judged by.

You see the price before anything is confirmed

We come back to you with what your budget buys in that town, delivery included, and what is in season there. Nothing is ordered until you say yes.

Made and delivered on the day

Arranged that morning in their city, in water, by hand, with your card message written out. We follow the order through and we stay the people you talk to if anything needs putting right.

Good to know

The networks we send through

So what are Interflora and the Petals Network?

They are networks of independent florists who accept each other's orders. We are a member of both. Between them they cover the capital cities, country towns you would struggle to find on a map, and a long list of countries beyond Australia.

Interflora is the name most people already know. Petals was established in 1992 and is run from Armidale in New South Wales.

Membership of either is by application, and that is the whole point of them: both accredit real florist shops. When we send your order to Adelaide, it lands on the bench of a florist with a shop, a cool room and a name to protect.

How is this different from the big flower websites?

You are dealing with a shop you can walk into. We are at Shop 38, The Mark, on Orchid Avenue, and the same people who answer the phone are the ones who place your order and follow it up.

That is the difference worth caring about. If something needs fixing, you are not filling in a form on a website with no address on it. You are ringing us, and we sort it.

What arrives

Do the flowers arrive in a box?

No. They are arranged by hand in the town they are going to, and hand delivered in water or wrapped, the way we would send them ourselves from Orchid Avenue.

Flowers in a postal box are cut early, packed dry and asked to survive a courier. This is the opposite of that.

Can I choose the flowers and the style?

You choose the direction and the florist designs it. We are glad to pass on what you have in mind and it is usually honoured: a rose bouquet, something soft and pastel, all whites, bright and cheerful, a flower to leave out. Tell us and we tell them.

What we will not do is promise you a particular style or a particular flower, because we are not the ones standing at that bench and the season is different in every town. An interstate order is the local florist's design, made from the best of what their market gave them that morning. That is also the reason it arrives looking alive.

If one exact flower is the whole point of the gift, ring us and say so. We will find out what is possible in that town and tell you honestly before you spend anything.

Can you send overseas?

Often, yes. Both networks reach well past Australia. Tell us the country and the date and we will tell you honestly what is possible.

Timing and cost

How far ahead do I need to order?

Ring us with the town and the date and we will tell you straight away what can be done. Cut-off times belong to the florist at the other end, not to us, and they differ from town to town.

Earlier is always better, and a day or two of notice buys you a noticeably better arrangement.

What does it cost?

It depends on the town and the size. Tell us what you would like to spend and we will tell you what that buys there, delivery included, before anything is confirmed.

Our own Gold Coast delivery is a separate and simpler thing. Prices and zones for that are on our delivery page.

I want flowers on the Gold Coast, not interstate.

Then this page is not the one you need. Order from the shop for same-day delivery across the Gold Coast on orders placed before 2pm, Monday to Saturday, made by us on Orchid Avenue.

Ordering from another country? Our cut-off, written out in your own time, is on sending flowers from overseas.

Send flowers interstate

Tell us where they are.

You do not need to know flower names or which florist to use. We do need the full delivery address and a phone number for whoever is receiving them, because the florist at the other end cannot find a street they have not been given, or ring the door if nobody answers. Tell us the date and roughly what you would like to spend and we will come back with what that buys there. Nothing is confirmed until you are happy with it.

Add the occasion, a budget and your card message

The more you tell us, the closer our first answer will be.

What is the occasion?

Photos cannot be attached to the form above. Use the email button and attach them there, it opens a draft addressed to us.
