A vase arrangement of blush roses, pink disbuds and trailing eucalyptus, lit against a dark background

The second Sunday in May

Mother's Day gifts.

The busiest day in floristry, ours included, and the one genuinely worth ordering early for. Arrangements, plants and hampers, made by hand on Orchid Avenue.

Three ways to go

What to send if she is not a roses person.

  • Blush and cream if she likes things soft, bright and boxed if she likes colour more than formality. Tell us which she is and we will build to it rather than to a photograph.

    Mother's Day flowers
  • A potted orchid flowers for two to three months and again the year after. The gift that is still on the kitchen bench in July, quietly reminding her.

    The Greenhouse
  • Some mothers would take the gourmet hamper over any bouquet in the shop, and they are not wrong. Gourmet, chocolate or fruit, in three sizes each.

    Signature Hampers

Order early, and we mean it.

The first week of May changes what is possible.

Demand for the week around Mother's Day runs at well over double a normal month, and every florist in the country is buying from the same growers. The arrangements we can make in the first week of May are not the arrangements anyone can make on the Saturday.

Ordering two weeks out costs you nothing. We are very happy to be told "she likes yellow, spend this much, surprise her", and that is often the best brief we get.
